ABDUL REDHA GHADHANFAR GEN. TRAD. & CONT. CO. W.L.L. has been specialized, since establishment in 1954, prior to the Architectural Renaissance in Kuwait. It started in one of the oldest traditional shops in old Kuwait which was called “Emarat Ma’rafi”. It specialized in importing building materials for ships from all over the world. Wood, ropes and metal were brought from India. From East Africa a special wood called “Chandal” was imported for building ceilings of houses. Moreover, bamboo sticks that were called “Bascheel” were delivered from the shores of Iraq.
The Architectural Renaissance started in the era of his highness the late Sheikh “Abdulla Al Salem Al Sabah. This led to the expansion and diversity of both the type and origin of the imported wood in Kuwait. Canada, Romania, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and China.
We deal with various types of timber, plywood, MDF, Block board, White Wood,etc… and also we deal with Gypsum board and Insulating Materials.
